A good friend from college has started his own design/clothing/art company called Poetic Industries. This is just a side project for him. His bread-winning job is working with youth in the city of Saskatoon and is, in all respects, considered a missionary (although he grew up just north of the city – missionaries don’t always have to travel halfway around the globe!). He is doing great work.
His first real venture with Poetic Industries is to sell t-shirts that he designed and had printed. The catalyst behind this project was after he saw the Watoto African Children’s choir. He decided that he was going to get these shirts printed and all the proceeds he will donate directly to Watoto. I think this is a great venture and I have already got my t-shirt (I got the black one). I hope that you, too, will buy at least one shirt (why not buy all three!) and support both his art and the Watoto choir.
p.s. on a completely unrelated note (mostly for Sarah and my parents), I updated the “backyardigans” page with new pictures of our garden – giving you a progress report!
